Two appliances were mobilised following a report to the Fire Service Control Room of a lorry on fire at the above address.
On arrival at the scene crew confirmed one trailer of scrap metal well alight, crew got to work to extinguish and requested the attendance of the police as large plume of smoke was travelling across the A39.

Crew have requested the attendance of a water carrier and an aerial ladder platform, the nearest water carrier and aerial ladder platform were mobilised from Bridgwater.

Crews at work with two breathing apparatus, one compressed air foam system, two improvised monitors for boundary cooling the outside of the trailer and tyres. The trailer has been released from the unit of the vehicle which is clear from the fire.

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service received a call from our colleagues at the Ambulance Service reporting a 2 vehicle road traffic collision where 1 person was trapped within the vehicle.
On arrival crews confirmed a 2 vehicle road traffic collision. 1 person was still trapped within 1 of the vehicles but all other persons were free and clear of the vehicles. Paramedics were on scene treating casualties whilst crews were setting up equipment.

Location: Little Pennard Lane, East Pennard, Shepton Mallet, Somerset
2 Fire appliances from Shepton Mallet were mobilised to the above location to reports of an incident.
On arrival, crews confirmed this to be a small tractor, well alight.
Crews extinguished the fire using 2 hose reel jets and thermal imaging camera was also used.
The tractor was severely damaged by fire and the cause was accidental.
Duty of care was left with the owner.

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service received a call reporting a fire within an old slurry pit at the above location.
The officer in charge confirmed that this was a fire within an old slurry pit measuring approx. 25m x 25m. Crews used one 45mm jet and one compressed air foam jet to extinguish the fire.
