Fire Vehicle Large at Bath Road, Ashcott, Bridgwater

Date: 31.07.2018Time: 12:29Location: Bath Road, Ashcott, BridgwaterTwo appliances were mobilised following a report to the Fire Service Control Room of a lorry on fire at the above address.On arrival at the scene crew confirmed one trailer of scrap metal well alight, crew got to work to extinguish and requested the attendance of the police as large plume of smoke was travelling across the A39.Update 12:46Crew have requested the attendance of a water carrier and an aerial ladder platform, the nearest water carrier and aerial ladder platform were mobilised from Bridgwater.Update 12:54Crews at work with two breathing apparatus, one compressed air foam system, two improvised monitors for boundary cooling the outside of the trailer and tyres. The trailer has been released from the unit of the vehicle which is clear from the fire.Update 12:57Crew have requested the attendance of the rescue tender for the use of the light goods vehicle platform, the vehicle from Glastonbury has been mobilised.Update 13:18Crew at work with two breathing apparatus with the water carrier setting up a dam in preparation to be used with the aerial ladder platform.Update 14:08Crew have requested the attendance of an additional water carrier which was mobilised from Yeovil.Update 15:30An operational assurance officer on scene has liaised with the police incident force manager to implement a plan for the safe transportation of the load to its base.
