Fire within Slurry Pit at Wells Road, Panborough, Wells

Date: 22.07.2018Time: 12:38Location: Wells Road, Panborough, WellsDevon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service received a call reporting a fire within an old slurry pit at the above location.

Fire control mobilised one fire appliance from Wells, one from Glastonbury, the water bowser from Bridgwater and specialist officers.

The officer in charge confirmed that this was a fire within an old slurry pit measuring approx. 25m x 25m. Crews used one 45mm jet and one compressed air foam jet to extinguish the fire.

Crews made the scene safe and returned to their home stations.
