Four Millfield netballers have been selected for the U15 Team Bath long squad in preparation for the upcoming 2022 School Games.
Year 10 students Venetia Mahony, Amalia Eneanya-Bonito, and Year 9 Olivia Pitt are all currently part of the Haines-Watts sponsored Team Bath Athlete Development Centre based at Millfield. Year 10 Cammie Collins, who joined the Millfield community when she was two years old, is part of the Somerset County Academy. The girls will be joining other Millfield students in the Team Bath pathway who have represented U17, U18 and U19 NPL squads this season. The selected Millfield netballers will be at Loughborough University from 1-4 September this year for the School Games.
The short squad will be decided on the July 11 for the 2022 School Games National Finals. The multi-sport event celebrates talented young athletes from across the UK. More than 1,100 young athletes will compete in ten sports, across the Loughborough University Campus.
Director of Netball, Jenna Adamson, said, "It's wonderful to see that these four athletes have been recognised for their talent and hard work this season. The fact that they are still so young with so much potential makes them exciting future prospects for both Millfield Netball and Team Bath. I look forward to watching their progress in the coming months."
Millfield have a number of specialist Netball staff who are highly experienced coaches and players who perform within international settings, the Vitality Netball Super league, the England Performance pathway, and Premier League Clubs. Millfield annually has athletes representing Super league franchises across all age groups within the National Performance League and at Super league.
