Shepton Mallet Gymnastics club gain 5 Tumbling places at National School finals

Shepton Mallet Gymnastics Club travelled to Devon, where 14 Tumblers completed at South-West Schools championships in Tumbling. All gymnasts, aged 8 to 18 years old, exceeded their personal goals, gaining significant experience at SW regional school championships.
Alfie McCulloch from Wells Blue School has retained his title for the second year in a row as South-West Tumbling Schools champion. Alfie scored one of the day's highest scores, gaining a well-deserved gold medal.
Grace Whitcombe from Chew Valley School tumbled her way to becoming the South-West runner-up champion. This was Grace's first time competing at SW schools, winning a silver medal.
Shepton Mallet Gymnastics Club primary school boys were on a winning streak with a 1, 2, 3. Luke Steele from Stoberry Park School, was crowned South-West Tumbling champion. Lukes dedication earned him a gold medal Wesley Talbot from Evercreech C of E Primary School retained his silver medal for the second year a row. In bronze medal position was Jack Rowe from Ditcheat Primary school
Finishing off the competition with the biggest smile of the day was Olivia White from Bruton Primary School, who had 3 very strong tumbles, gaining a silver medal.
We are so proud of all of our gymnasts, all have worked extremely hard to compete at South-West Schools Tumbling championships.
Massive congratulations to Alfie McCulloch, Grace Whitcombe, Luke Steele, Wesley Talbot and Olivia White, who will be travelling with Shepton Mallet Gymnastics club to Stoke-on-Trent next month to compete at the National School finals. Best of luck everyone.
