By Laura Linham 30th Jan 2026
Violent crime in Street spiked again last month, with police logging 86 offences in November — up from 80 in October — and nearly half of them classified as violent.
New figures show 47 violent crimes were recorded in November, compared with 37 the month before. Anti-social behaviour also crept up, with 11 reports compared to nine in October, while shoplifting saw a slight rise from seven to nine cases.
Criminal damage and arson nudged up from three to four, while drug offences doubled from one to two. Burglary dropped slightly to two incidents, and there were no robberies reported — down from one. Vehicle crime held steady at two, and public order offences dipped from six to four. The "other crime" category, which includes offences not listed elsewhere, fell sharply from six to two.
Violent crime continues to dominate local police logs. The category includes assault, harassment and any offence involving physical harm or threat of violence. Anti-social behaviour ranges from vandalism to threatening conduct in public. Public order offences typically involve disorderly behaviour or verbal abuse. Shoplifting refers to theft from stores, while criminal damage covers property vandalism, including graffiti and broken windows. Vehicle crime includes theft of or from vehicles.
The latest monthly crime data comes with a delay of up to 30 days and may be subject to updates.
