Glastonbury school kids get tech boost thanks to donation from local care company

Pupils at St John's Infants' School in Glastonbury have received a welcome boost to their learning with a donation of tablets from Candlelight Homecare.
The care company, whose head office is just minutes from the school, gifted a number of devices that were no longer needed, helping to plug tech gaps both in class and at home.
The tablets were formally handed over to head teacher Kerry Devane by Candlelight staff Ken Marshall, Sarah Perry, and Sian Hitchcock.
Mrs Devane said the donation would help support pupils who don't have access to digital learning at home, as well as being used during lessons.
Candlelight's Managing Director, James Catley-Day, said: "We're delighted to support our local communities however we can. I hope these tablets are useful to the pupils of St John's—some of whom may one day join the care sector themselves. We look forward to working with the school again in future."
Candlelight Homecare is a family-run firm offering care services across Somerset, Dorset, Wiltshire, and East Sussex. Based in Glastonbury, it has been providing in-home support for over 35 years and is rated 'Good' by the Care Quality Commission.
