St Dunstan's students are celebrating a remarkable set of GCSE results this year, marking one of the school's best performances to date.

The students, who have faced significant disruption to their education due to the Covid-19 pandemic and subsequent restrictions since Year 7, have risen above the challenges with resilience and determination. The school credits their success to hard work, extra revision, and the opportunities they seized for additional study skills and online learning.

A number of students achieved outstanding individual results, with Felicity S, Mati Z, Coral B, Emma M, Simon S, Brooke S, Noah D, Maddison BH, Elena B, Nancy P, Felicity E, Antonia Q, Lyla G, Lance B, Poppy H, Lily N, Seren P, and Zuzanna S each securing one or more grades at 7, 8, or 9.

Headteacher Lynda Bevan, who will retire at the end of this month, expressed her pride in the students' achievements. She said, "We are all very proud of our students and their results this year. It has been heartwarming to see how hard the students have worked and how they have approached their exams with real commitment and confidence. Congratulations to everyone – they have a great foundation for their next steps."

She also praised the dedication of the school's staff, whose efforts she described as "almost superhuman". She added, "The very positive relationships between students and staff are a vital factor in these achievements."

St Dunstan's School in Glastonbury has enjoyed a successful year, with a strong Ofsted report, rising student enrolment, and now these outstanding GCSE results. Reflecting on her time at the school, Mrs Bevan said, "I know that I am leaving the school in a very good position for the future. I would like to publicly thank the MNSP Trust for all their support in developing the school and St Dunstan's staff for their hard work, dedication, and that special positivity that makes St Dunstan's such a wonderful school."
