The Street Chrysanthemum, Dahlia and Vegetable Society is set to host its 74th Annual Show on Saturday, 14th September, promising a beautiful display of flowers, vegetables, and much more. The event, which will run from 1:00 pm to 4:30 pm at The Victoria Club on Leigh Road, is free to attend and open to all.

This long-standing show has continued to grow in popularity, drawing exhibitors from near and far to compete across a wide range of categories, from novice level through to national standards. Visitors can expect to see impressive displays of chrysanthemums, dahlias, vegetables, fuchsias, and floral art. There will also be children's classes, making it a fun event for the whole family.

This year's show introduces some exciting new categories based on feedback from previous years. Alongside the traditional floral and vegetable classes, entrants can now compete in categories for fruit, homemade jams, chutneys, and even bottles of spirit.

New and novice competitors are warmly encouraged to take part, with organisers keen to welcome fresh faces to the competition. The event will also feature a tombola and refreshments for visitors to enjoy.

Don't miss this fantastic local tradition – entry is free, and everyone is welcome!
