The owners of Glastonbury's popular restaurant, The Old Tannery, have announced that they are moving on to new ventures, handing over the reins to local organisation, the Red Brick Building.

Matt and Anneliese, who have run the beloved eatery for several years, shared the news with a heartfelt message on social media, thanking their customers, suppliers, and staff for their unwavering support.

"It is with much sadness that we have to announce that as of today we are no longer the owners of The Old Tannery. We have sold the business to Red Brick Building, Glastonbury who will continue to run it," they said in a statement.

The couple went on to express their gratitude to everyone who contributed to the restaurant's success. "A massive thank you to all our customers for your continued support over the years. We hope you've all enjoyed dining with us," they said. They also took the opportunity to highlight the contribution of their team: "A great big thank you to our lovely staff who have been incredible through all the recent upheaval."

Fans of the couple's hospitality won't have to say goodbye completely. The family is now set to bring their expertise to The Mitre on Benedict Street, another much-loved local venue, where they will start a new chapter.

The Red Brick Building, well known in the community for supporting local initiatives and events, will take over the Old Tannery. They are expected to continue the tradition of serving great food and providing a welcoming space for the community, making the transition as smooth as possible.
