The owners of Glastonbury's well-loved restaurant, The Old Tannery, have announced their departure as they hand over the business to local organisation, the Red Brick Building. Matt and Anneliese, who have managed the popular eatery for several years, shared the news on social media, expressing gratitude to their loyal customers, suppliers, and staff.

"It is with much sadness that we have to announce that as of today we are no longer the owners of The Old Tannery. We have sold the business to Red Brick Building, Glastonbury, who will continue to run it," they said in a statement.

The couple thanked their supporters: "A massive thank you to all our customers for your continued support over the years. We hope you've all enjoyed dining with us." They also praised their team, adding, "A great big thank you to our lovely staff who have been incredible through all the recent upheaval."

While fans of The Old Tannery may be sad to see the couple move on, the previous owner and chef are starting an exciting new venture at The Mitre, a new restaurant and hotel development by The Crown Glastonbury on Benedict Street. The Mitre is set to open next week, offering a fresh dining experience to the town.

The Red Brick Building, a well-known community organisation, will take over The Old Tannery, ensuring continuity in providing great food and a welcoming atmosphere for locals and visitors alike. The transition is expected to be smooth, with the Red Brick Building continuing the tradition of hospitality at the venue.
