Glastonbury crime rises to 112 incidents in January

Police recorded 112 crimes in Glastonbury during January 2026, according to the latest published crime statistics.
The figure represents an increase from 93 offences recorded in December 2025, a rise of 19 incidents month-on-month in the town.
Violent crime remained the most frequently recorded category, with 44 incidents reported in January. This was slightly higher than the 42 violent offences recorded the previous month.
Shoplifting also rose noticeably between the two months, increasing from seven incidents in December to 18 in January.
Anti-social behaviour was another of the more common issues reported, with 18 incidents recorded in January compared with 12 during December.
Other offences recorded in January included five cases of criminal damage and arson, four drug offences, four vehicle crimes, 10 public order incidents, two robberies and two offences involving possession of weapons. Police also recorded one burglary, one other theft and three incidents categorised as other crime.
In December, criminal damage and arson had been more prominent, with 12 incidents recorded, while public order offences remained unchanged at 10 across both months.
Police crime statistics are typically published around a month after the reporting period to allow time for incidents to be recorded and verified.
