Glastonbury Charter Market cancelled due to forecast high winds

Glastonbury Charter Market has been cancelled this week due to a severe weather warning, with wind gusts forecast to exceed 35mph and heavy rain expected throughout the day.
The market, which was due to take place on Tuesday 3 June, has been called off by Glastonbury Town Council in the interest of public safety.
A spokesperson said: "Due to forecasted wind gusts exceeding 35mph and heavy rain all day, and in the interest of public safety, the Town Council have made the difficult decision to cancel the Glastonbury Charter Market scheduled for tomorrow, Tuesday 3rd June 2025.
"High winds pose a significant risk to gazebos, displays and equipment, making it unsafe for traders, visitors and staff."
The decision was made following weather assessments and safety checks. The council thanked residents and traders for their understanding.
The market is expected to return as usual next week, weather permitting.
