One of Glastonbury's best-loved holistic businesses is closing down after more than 40 years at the heart of the town's wellness scene.

Fragrant Earth Organics, known for its organic essential oils and plant-based therapies, has confirmed it will shut as the owner steps away for a "well-earned retirement".

In a farewell message, the team said: "Thank you for 40 wonderful years. Since opening in the 80s, we've been incredibly fortunate to serve our customers, work with a talented team, and be part of a supportive community."

With a base on Beckery Road and a retail shop on Glastonbury High Street, Fragrant Earth became a trusted name in aromatherapy—offering natural skincare, body care, and mood-boosting blends under its banner of "simple – pure – effective".

No final trading date has been given, but the closure marks the end of an era for a business many considered a local institution. "The memories, relationships, and sense of purpose we've shared will always remain," the statement added.
