From the festive Christmas lights switch-on to the medieval market at Glastonbury Abbey, and a range of indoor and outdoor stalls, there's something for everyone at this day-long community celebration of peace, goodwill and mince pies.

When Is Glastonbury Frost Fayre 2025?

The Glastonbury Frost Fayre 2025 takes place on Saturday 29 November, with events running from 10am to 6pm. The Mayor of Glastonbury will officially open the event at midday on the Melodrome Stage, located at the top of the High Street.

At 5pm, the Christmas lights in Market Square will be switched on, marking the high point of the day's festivities.

Where Is the Glastonbury Frost Fayre Held?

The Frost Fayre takes over Glastonbury town centre, with activities, entertainment, and stalls spread across:

  • High Street – festive shopping, food stalls, and live performances
  • Benedict Street, Magdalene Street, Northload Street, and Archers Way – music stages and street entertainment
  • St Dunstan's Car Park – children's fairground rides and more stalls
  • St John's Church, United Reformed Church, Assembly Rooms, and St Benedict's Church – indoor markets and family activities
  • Glastonbury Abbey – free entry for a Medieval Christmas Market across the weekend

Christmas Tree Lights Switch-On

At 5pm in Market Square, join the crowds for the official lighting of Glastonbury's Christmas Tree. Arrive early and enjoy festive favourites from the Glastonbury Brass Band starting at 4:15pm.

Live Music on Five Stages

Catch live performances throughout the day at:

  • Melodrome Stage (High Street)
  • King Arthur Outdoor Stage (Benedict Street)
  • Magdalene Street Stage
  • Radio GWS Stage (Northload Street)
  • Archer's Way Stage

Plus, enjoy buskers and street performers throughout the town.

Medieval Christmas Market at Glastonbury Abbey

Experience a festive step back in time inside the abbey ruins with a free-entry Medieval Christmas Market running from 10am to 6pm on Saturday and 10am to 4pm on Sunday 30 November. Expect period-themed stalls, vintage games, re-enactments, live carols and family fun.

Meet Father Christmas

Father Christmas will be at Abbey House (Saturday and Sunday). Visits include festive activities, a gift, and photo opportunities. Booking required via Glastonbury Abbey.

There's also a Santa's Grotto at the United Reformed Church (12pm to 3pm, £4 per child).

Family-Friendly Activities

  • Children's Worlds crafts, storytelling and shows in the Small Hall in the Town Hall
  • Lantern-making workshops and Tor Theatre's "The Rainbow Rider" at St Mary's Hall
  • Fairground rides at St Dunstan's Car Park

Parking and Travel Advice for Glastonbury Frost Fayre

Glastonbury gets extremely busy on Frost Fayre day. Visitors are strongly encouraged to use the Park & Ride services running from:

  • Herbie's Field (BA6 9LE)
  • Butler's Carnival Park (BA6 9LR)
  • Tor Rugby Club (BA6 9GY)

Operating from 8am to 7:30pm – suggested donation £5. All-day parking is also available:

  • Tor Leisure Car Park (Benedict Street entrance, £10 donation, locked at 11pm)
  • St Dunstan's School Car Park (Wells Road, BA6 9BY – supports the school!)

Please avoid parking on Wells Road or restricted areas – fines will be issued. Respect clearways and driveways to keep the town safe and accessible.

Lost Children: Safety First

The Town Hall is the official base for lost children. Parents should familiarise young children with the location and consider wristbands with contact info.
