Wells and Glastonbury YFC ready to roll for festive run

By Laura Linham   28th Nov 2025

Footage of last year's event taken by South West Drone Guy.

Christmas lights, roaring engines and big-hearted cheer are coming to Somerset as Wells and Glastonbury Young Farmers Club gears up for its annual illuminated tractor run.

The convoy will roll out from Worthy Farm in Pilton at 4.30pm on Sunday, 21 December 2025, bringing a dazzling parade of fairy-lit tractors through Shepton Mallet, Wells, Glastonbury and surrounding villages. All proceeds go to charity.

Organisers say they "can't wait to light up the streets" and have asked spectators to check their event page for estimated timings in each area.

With dozens of vehicles involved, crowds are being urged to stay safe. Spectators should find a sensible viewing spot and stay clear of the road — tractors need plenty of space and can't stop quickly. Children should be kept close and warned not to cross into the parade route.

Families are advised to dress for the weather and wear bright or reflective clothing, especially after dark. Waving and cheering are welcome — but organisers have asked people not to shine lights or approach the vehicles. Pets are best left at home as the noise can be frightening.

Volunteer marshals will be spaced along the route to help things run smoothly, and the club has apologised in advance for any short delays caused.
