Cancer counselling charity We Hear You (WHY) is celebrating being chosen as Clarks HQ's charity of the year.

The charity offers free counselling and emotional support for children and adults affected or bereaved by cancer and life-threatening conditions.

The year-long charity partnership between Clarks and We Hear You was chosen by Clarks' employees based at their Street HQ from a shortlist of nominated charities.

Fundraising and Communications Manager Gemma Wilkes said "It's fantastic to have been chosen from a very deserving shortlist of charities to be Clarks' charity partner, and benefit from the visibility of a connection with such a large and well known organisation.

"The partnership got off to a flying start and the team have already raised just under £6,000. When we met with some of the team at Clarks HQ in Street recently, they had a lot of exciting fundraising plans in the pipeline which we can't wait to see in action, raising vital funds for our much-needed services, supporting communities in Somerset, BANES, Swindon and Wiltshire.

Jennifer Leaman, Head of Environmental & Product Sustainability, said: "Clarks has a longstanding history of supporting local charities and community projects, so we're delighted to be working with We Hear You (WHY) as our local charity of the year. They provide such an amazing service across Somerset and beyond. We're supporting WHY through fundraising activities and supporting Clarks employees to undertake volunteering opportunities with WHY."

The charity partnership between Clarks and We Hear You runs until the end of 2023.
