UP CLOSE: Inside Rhiannon's Coven

One of the latest additions to Glastonbury's shopping scene is Rhiannon's Coven in Abbey Mews.

A treasure trove of the witchy and celestial, owner Rhiannon Cave opened the shop almost a month ago.

"I specialise in witchy and celestial machine embroidery and started my small business January 2020 and I was very lucky to see my business thrive through the pandemic," she said. "I decided to open Rhiannon's Coven when I did a three week pop up market in a department store called Bobbys in Bournemouth for Christmas and I saw the potential my small business could have in a retail space. That's when the search began for my own shop. I already had a little studio at the Guggleton Farm Arts in Stalbridge but knew I wanted to expand to something more. But I currently only own one embroidery machine and I knew I wouldn't be able to fill the whole shop myself so that is when I started asking fellow small businesses if they would like to be a part of Rhiannon's Coven."

As well as Rhiannon's machine embroidery, the shop also sells healing crystals, macramé, crystal suncatchers, books, hand whittled wands, candles, stained glass art, lots of artwork prints, different jewellery, resin artwork and clay artwork. My favourite products in the shop are some custom witch houses that were made by my friend Jodie!

"I would like to think Rhiannon's Coven is completely unique as I have filled the shop with only small businesses," says Rhiannon. Everything in the shop is handmade by someone who owns their own small business – it's all about supporting each other. "

Rhiannon's Coven is open every day except Wednesday from 10.30am-5.30pm.
