A driver who tried to flee a routine police stop in Glastonbury has had their vehicle seized after officers uncovered drugs and no insurance.
The car made off from PC James Higgins and PCSO Nik Burge last week, but was quickly tracked down and stopped thanks to what police described as swift teamwork.
When officers searched the vehicle, they found Class A and Class B drugs both inside and nearby. The driver was also found to have no insurance.
Police say driving uninsured is not just illegal, but puts other road users at risk. Vehicles can be seized on the spot, with drivers facing fines and possible prosecution.
The car has now been taken off the road, the drugs recovered, and enquiries are ongoing.
A police spokesperson said they will continue targeting those who endanger local streets, adding that community support helps them keep Glastonbury safe.
