Police seek witnesses after a 15-year-old boy was assaulted on Friday 13 June in Street.

Police are appealing for witnesses following an assault in Street which left a 15-year-old boy needing hospital and dental treatment.

The teenager was followed by a group of four youths, all known to him, from McDonald's to Sainsbury's on Gravenchon Way on the evening of Friday 13 June.

He was then assaulted between 7pm and 7.45pm on land between Home Bargains and Rockhaven Business Park.

The victim suffered a chipped tooth, bruises, cuts and scratches, and was treated in hospital and by a dentist before being discharged to recover at home.

Descriptions have been released of four suspects, all believed to be in their mid-teens:

  • One was described as having blonde hair and wearing black shorts and a black Adidas jacket with red stripes.
  • Another wore yellow and green shorts with a purple vest.
  • A third was wearing a black school uniform.
  • The fourth was said to be in a blue hooded top and black shorts.

Police have taken witness statements and reviewed extensive CCTV from the retail park, but are asking for anyone else who saw the assault — or events leading up to it — to come forward.

PC Joe Storey, the officer in the case, said: "This is a serious assault which has had a significant impact on the victim and we are continuing to support them and their family. We understand that incidents like this are concerning for the local community.

"However, we would like to take this opportunity to reassure residents and business owners that we believe this to be an isolated incident involving people known to each other and therefore we believe there to be no wider risk to the community.

"We do urge anyone with information into this incident to come forward to assist us with our enquiries."

Anyone with information should call 101 and quote reference number 5225165451, or fill in Avon and Somerset Police's online appeal form.

Alternatively, contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111. No personal details are taken and you won't be asked to speak to police or appear in court.
