Motorcyclist airlifted to hospital after collision near Glastonbury trading estate

A man has been airlifted to hospital following a collision involving two motorbikes near the trading estate on Wells Road in Glastonbury.
Emergency services were called to the scene at around 8.25pm on Thursday 10 July. The road was closed at the junction with Sharpham Road while police and ambulance crews attended.
A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police said: "We were called by the ambulance service to a collision involving two motorbikes near the trading estate on Wells Road, Glastonbury, at around 8.25pm on Thursday 10 July. A person has been taken to hospital with injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening."
"Wells Road was closed at the junction with Sharpham Road and CCTV enquiries are being carried out. The road has since reopened."
Police are now appealing for witnesses.
"We urge any potential witnesses or anybody who may have CCTV or dashcam footage of the incident, or of the moments leading up to it, to call us on 101 quoting reference number 5225194350."
A spokesperson for the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT) added:
"We were called at 20:09hrs on Thursday 10 July to a road traffic collision in Glastonbury. We sent two double-crewed land ambulances, an air ambulance, and a tactical commander to the scene. We conveyed one patient by air ambulance to Southmead Hospital."
The condition of the injured rider is not currently known.
