Street residents are being invited to a free community day at Crispin Hall this Saturday, 28 March, with parish councillors promising bike repairs, a friendly local atmosphere and a special guest appearance from BBC Somerset's Simon Parkin.

The event will run from 10am to 2pm and is open to all, with people encouraged to bring their bikes along for free repairs and tune-ups.

Organisers say the day is designed to get more people back on the road while bringing the village together for a free event in the heart of Street.

BBC Somerset presenter Simon Parkin is due to officially open the event, giving visitors the chance to meet him as the day gets under way.

As well as the free bike fixes, organisers are promising a welcoming community atmosphere at Crispin Hall for anyone who wants to drop in and be part of the day.

Entry is free.
