Street venue and Nub News sponsor The Loft Lounge & Bar is going full Dickens for Christmas, with a festive dinner, live carols and dancing planned just three days before the big day.

The Leigh Road venue will host its Dickensian Christmas Celebration on Tuesday, 22 December, with Wells City Band providing an after-dinner carol concert.

Doors will open at 7 pm before a two-course traditional festive dinner is served at 7.30 pm.

The evening will include turkey with the trimmings alongside other seasonal favourites, with organisers also promising mince pies, mulled wine and plenty of Christmas atmosphere.

Wells City Band will perform carols from 8.30 pm until 9.30 pm before the evening switches gears for a festive disco running until 11 pm.

Tickets cost £25 per person.

The Loft is pitching the event as an old-fashioned Christmas night out, with the Dickensian theme running through the evening rather than stopping at dinner.
