A skull was stolen from a shop on Glastonbury's High Street in the early hours of Friday, 15 September.

Police were called to the scene after a window of the shop was found smashed and the fake skull, described as "valuable," missing from a display.

In an effort to solve the case, Mendip Neighbourhood Policing Team took to Facebook to call for public assistance.

Their spokesperson said: "Early Friday morning 15 September, police were called to a shop on Glastonbury High Street, where a window had been smashed and a skull stolen from the display. This is a valuable item; if you have any information regarding the theft or someone offers it to you, please get in touch with us."

While the details surrounding the stolen item remain sketchy, what is clear is that the authorities are eager to recover it and bring the culprits to justice. The crime reference number for the incident has been provided as 5223224416.

Officers are urging anyone with information about the theft to contact them on 101 or to call Crimestoppers confidentially on 0800 555 111.
