Roaring success: Riders In The Sky smashes record with £13.5k haul

Engines roared, dogs strutted and families poured into Glastonbury last month - and helped Riders In The Sky (RITS) 2025 smash its fundraising record — pulling in a huge £13,500 for the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance.
Organisers gathered at Tor Leisure for the annual charity ride-out and family fun day in memory of Lee Baker, who tragically lost his life in a motorbike accident in November 2010. A much-loved father, brother, and friend, the firefighter was known for his infectious energy, charity spirit, and love of motorcycles. The event has become a beloved tribute to his life, bringing his friends and the wider community together year after year
From a dog show and kids' rides to a packed raffle and auction, locals dug deep, helping organisers push the event's running total to a staggering £109,000 raised since it began.
There was no shortage of entertainment, with live bands rocking the stage, stalls buzzing with activity and food and drink flowing into the evening. Entry to the fun day was free, but donations kept piling in for the life-saving helicopter charity.
A spokesperson for RITS said: "This £13,500 is our biggest total ever. We're blown away by the support—whether you rode, donated or just turned up, you've helped keep the air ambulance flying."
The Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance runs entirely on public donations, with organisers vowing every penny will go towards saving lives across the region.
