On Thursday 24th August, St Dunstan's students celebrated their GCSE results.

Having been impacted by the pandemic throughout a significant proportion of their time at secondary school, students have shown real resilience in approaching their exams. 67% of students achieved a grade 4 or above in Maths and 63% of students achieved a grade 4 or above in English Overall, 55% of students have achieved a grade 4 or above and 37% of students have achieved a grade 5 or above, all students have achieved grades in their GCSEs which will allow them to progress to the next steps.

A particular well done to Eliza McKeever who achieved grade 9 in both English Literature and Art. Congratulations also to Martha Smith for her grade 9 in art, Poppy Blackwill, Olivia Masters and Anna Tope who all achieved a grade 8 in English Language, Heidi Davies for her grade 8 in English Literature and Media Studies, and to Olivia Masters, Scott Matthews, Arthur Reakesmith and Charlie Dash for achieving a grade 8 in Maths.

It was pleasing to see how many students had worked hard to achieve an impressive set of grades in a range of subjects - well done to Hazel Moon, Seren Nagle-Fellows, Macaully Bishop, Henry Reeve, Chloe Ackerman, Poppy Blackwill, Frankie Derbidge, Jack WIlls, Mohamad Masre and Luka Cresswell-Williams who have all shown real dedication to their studies and have reaped the rewards of their hard work.

The school would like to pay tribute to our Ukrainian students who joined St Dunstan's in 2022. They have both attained a strong pass in one or more GCSEs in spite of taking exams in their second or even third language - well done Mary and Polly, a great achievement.

Headteacher Lynda Bevan said, 'Our students this year have shown resilience and tenacity in the face of pandemic and post pandemic challenges. As a school, we know the challenges that individual students have faced and how they have risen to the challenge to reach their end goal. Hard work and seizing the extra opportunities provided have paid off. I would also like to thank teachers at St Dunstan's who have worked tirelessly to support all students during the last two years and who have, without exception, gone the extra mile to ensure that all students had the opportunity to succeed. We are now looking forward to seeing our future students go from strength to strength.

To find out more about St Dunstan's School, their Open Evening is on 28th September, with regular tours of the school also available. Contact [email protected] for full details and to book to attend.
