Police crackdown hits Glastonbury and Street as illegal vehicles pulled off the road

Police have seized multiple vehicles in Glastonbury and Street this week as part of an ongoing effort to tackle anti-social and illegal activity on local roads.
On Tuesday 17 June, Glastonbury Neighbourhood Police seized three untaxed vehicles parked on Morland Road. Officers were acting under DVLA powers, and confirmed the vehicles had no valid tax. All were removed from the road without warning.
Police are reminding residents that any untaxed vehicle left on a public road is liable to be seized. Drivers can check their vehicle's tax status using the official government site.
In a separate incident, officers from the Glastonbury Neighbourhood Team working in Street seized a motorbike being ridden anti-socially. The incident, which happened on Monday, involved support from a nearby traffic officer, who helped safely stop the motorcycle and its pillion passenger.
Checks revealed that the motorbike had no insurance and the rider did not hold the correct licence. The bike was seized at the scene.
A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police said:
"We're committed to keeping our roads safe and tackling anti-social behaviour. These seizures are part of ongoing efforts to deal with illegal and unsafe vehicle use in our communities."
Officers are encouraging residents to report concerns about dangerous or anti-social road use via the police website or by calling 101.
