The Pipers Inn, a historic village pub on the edge of Ashcott, has new owners after being sold for £575,000.

The 17th-century pub, which had been closed for more than three years, was on the market with licensed property specialists Sidney Phillips and initially listed with a freehold asking price of over £500,000.

While the future plans for the pub remain unclear, the sale marks a new chapter for the much-loved venue.

Joseph James, Regional Valuations Manager for the Wessex region, oversaw the sale and commented: "The Pipers Inn is a well-recognised public house and passed by most motorists when travelling between Glastonbury and Bridgwater. After being closed for over three years, we are pleased to have completed the sale of this notable and historic property on behalf of Wellington Pub Company."

He added: "The pub previously had gone through a number of tenants over the years, and I hope that the new owners have grand plans for the site. I wish them all the best."

With the Pipers Inn now under new ownership, locals and passersby will be eager to see what the future holds for this historic Somerset pub.
