An artist linked to the Glastonbury creative community has been shortlisted for the prestigious John Ruskin Prize, one of the UK's most respected cross‑disciplinary art awards.
Cranmore‑based sculptor Fiona Campbell — co‑curator of the As Old as the Hills project at The Zig Zag in Glastonbury — is among just 82 artists selected from nearly 4,000 entries. Her work Stilt Structure II (2024) will be exhibited at Trinity Buoy Wharf in London from 29 January to 21 February 2026.

The piece is made from found wood, textiles, leather and plant‑dyed fabrics, exploring themes of vulnerability, resilience and sustainability through slow, labour‑intensive making.
"I'm committed to slow processes and sustainable materials," said Campbell. "My work is about resilience — how we live lightly, repair what we can, and move forward."
Following the Ruskin Prize show, Campbell's solo pop‑up exhibition Tethered Lines; Matter Becoming opens at No.6 Bruton from Thursday, 27 February to Sunday, 8 March 2026, featuring new and recent sculptures with live demonstrations.
