Glastonbury Abbey is getting ready for one of its biggest nights of the year, with Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Inspiral Carpets, The Blow Monkeys and some major names from British dance music heading into the historic ruins this weekend.

Night at the Abbey 2026 takes place on Saturday, 12 September from 2 pm until 11 pm, with the organisers promising 20 acts, four music areas, a silent disco, street food, independent traders and bars across the Abbey grounds.

With neither Glastonbury Festival nor the Glastonbury Abbey Extravaganza taking place during 2026's fallow year, it is also one of the town's biggest live music events of the summer.

Here is everything you need to know before heading through the gates.

When and where is Night at the Abbey?

Night at the Abbey takes place at Glastonbury Abbey on Saturday, 12 September, with the event running from 2 pm until 11 pm.

The festival is staged throughout the historic Abbey grounds, with the ruins illuminated as daylight fades and music spread across several different areas of the site.

Importantly, last entry and re-entry is at 7 pm. Nobody will be admitted or readmitted after that time, so anyone planning to leave during the afternoon will need to be back before the cut-off.

Who is playing?

Sophie Ellis-Bextor headlines the Main, or Dan's, Stage, with a line-up moving between disco, indie, blues, dub and bluegrass.

The Main Stage line-up is:

• Ruzz Guitar's Blues Revue

The King Arthur & Queen Guinevere Stage turns the focus towards electronic and dance music, with some familiar names from the 1990s club scene.

• Phil Hartnoll of Orbital – DJ set
• D:Ream – live
• Mr. C of The Shamen with David H Percussion
• Shades of Rhythm – live PA
• VIGI
• Short & Sweet

There is also The Nook, a dance space tucked among the trees and hosted by More Tea, featuring selectors including The Shaker, Mr. C, Grant Plant, Miss C, The Housekeeper, VIGI and Lucy Dean.

What about the silent disco?

The Abbey's silent disco is back for the night, taking over the Lady Chapel as Rave In The Nave.

Festival-goers will be able to switch between three channels, with DJs including DJ Bernie, Dunya, DJ Slim, LOKO and Echo appearing across the night.

It is one of the additions helping make up the event's new layout for 2026, which the Abbey says will provide increased capacity.

What food and drink will there be?

A world street-food market will operate during the festival alongside independent traders.

Bars will be open around the site, selling drinks ranging from local ales to cocktails.

People are allowed to bring their own food and soft drinks, but soft drinks must be in sealed, unopened containers when they arrive.

There is no bring-your-own alcohol at Night at the Abbey.

Bag searches will take place at the entrance.

Free drinking water will be available throughout the event, and visitors are encouraged to bring a reusable water bottle. It needs to be empty when entering the site and can then be filled inside.

How much are tickets?

Current advance tickets are priced at:

• Adults – £45
• Children aged five to 15 – £35
• Glastonbury Abbey PLUS members – £38.25

PLUS members receive a 15 per cent discount on their Night at the Abbey ticket.

Tickets are issued electronically and can either be printed or displayed on a mobile phone.

Can you bring a dog?

No. Dogs are not permitted at Night at the Abbey in 2026.

The Abbey says the event has a new layout and increased capacity this year, making it unsuitable for dogs.

What else should you know?

The festival takes place within the grounds and ruins of Glastonbury Abbey rather than in a conventional concert venue, with different stages and areas spread around the site.

Visitors should therefore allow time to move between performances and remember that it is an outdoor event running well into the evening.

The event finishes at 11 pm.

Night at the Abbey is also a Glastonbury Abbey fundraising event, with income helping support the work of the historic site.

This year's event follows a 2025 Night at the Abbey which attracted more than 4,000 people, with the 2026 edition expanding the musical offering and layout.
