A campaign to restore a rail link for Glastonbury is gathering momentum — with residents invited to have their say at a public meeting next week.

Glastonbury TrainLink will host a drop-in session at the Festival Hall — in the Atrium connecting St Dunstan's House and the Town Hall — on Monday, March 9, from 4pm to 7pm.

Organisers will unveil proposed timetables and routes for a direct bus service to Castle Cary railway station, Glastonbury's nearest mainline connection. Large-format displays will set out how the scheme could work, alongside results from a recent public survey.

Campaigners argue that a dedicated link to Castle Cary would make it easier for commuters, residents and visitors to travel in and out of the town — something Glastonbury has lacked since losing its railway station decades ago.

Those attending will be able to speak directly with the team behind the proposal, ask questions and share feedback as plans move into their next phase.

And in true community spirit, organisers say there will be tea and cake on offer for visitors.
