Expect a busy day in Glastonbury as the town marks May Day with an array of celebrations, spreading from the Market Cross to Bushy Coombe and enveloping the town in festive spirit.

The Market Cross will serve as the backdrop for a special performance of bardery on the balcony outside the Town Hall, starting around 10:30 AM with MC Jon Cousins at the helm.

Poet and bard John Crow will deliver stirring poems and lead participatory chants, inviting all attendees to join in the traditional 'Hal-an-Tow' and other celebratory verses.

The community May Day celebration will kick off at the Town Hall and Market Cross from 10 AM, featuring drummers, the crowning of the May King and Queen, and traditional Maypole dancing with appearances by the Green Men, The Horde, and Red Women.

The day's events will culminate in a parade starting at 12:30 PM, making its way to Bushy Coombe via the White Spring.

The festivities in Bushy Coombe, set between 2 PM and 4 PM, promise a blend of ancient and modern traditions. Druids will call the directions, and the May King and Queen will be handfasted in a traditional ceremony. The community will gather around the newly erected pole for dances and celebrations, embracing the essence of this historic day.
