Local and Somerset-wide organisations will come together in Glastonbury next month to help residents across West Mendip discover the health, wellbeing and community support available closer to home.

Taking place on Wednesday 16th September at St Dunstan's House Community Health and Wellbeing Centre, the Community Village will provide residents from Glastonbury, Street, Wells and the surrounding areas with an opportunity to speak directly with services and community groups.

The free drop-in event, open from 9.00am to 4.30pm, will bring together organisations offering support across four key areas: Support for Everyday Life, Staying Active and Connected, Working Well, and Health, Wellbeing and Lifestyle.

Building on the success of their community health and wellbeing event held at St Dunstan's House earlier this year, Somerset NHS Foundation Trust, Somerset Activity and Sports Partnership (SASP) and West Mendip Primary Care Network are coming together again to deliver this event.

Alongside the Community Village, invited patients will attend pre-arranged musculoskeletal (MSK) and physiotherapy appointments with Somerset NHS Foundation Trust as part of their ongoing care. Community appointment days like this are a well-established part of the Trust's approach across the county, supporting people with assessment, rehabilitation and self-management.

Working together, the three organisations are continuing to develop the Community Village element of the day. By making the most of the expertise and community space available on the day, partners are able to extend the benefits beyond those attending appointments, creating an opportunity for the wider community to access support, advice and information in one place.

The event also highlights the role that community spaces such as St Dunstan's House can play in supporting health and wellbeing locally. The centre provides a welcoming space where organisations, services and residents can come together, helping to strengthen connections across the community and making support more accessible.
