By Laura Linham 31st Mar 2026
Glastonbury is mourning the loss of former mayor Andy Willis.
Glastonbury Town Council said Mr Willis, who served as mayor in 2001 and was a councillor for St Benedict's Ward through the 1980s, 1990s and 2000s, died peacefully at home on Saturday, 28 March.
The Town Council announced the news with sadness and said funeral arrangements will be shared in due course.
The flag will fly at half mast on top of the Town Hall until the day after the funeral.
Mr Willis was a familiar figure in civic life in Glastonbury over several decades, serving both as a town councillor and later as mayor. His years of public service saw him represent St Benedict's Ward across the 1980s, 1990s and 2000s.
