A Glastonbury man has been given a restraining order and placed on the Sex Offender's Register after posting sexually explicit photos of his former partner online.

Adam David Capewell, 39, of Turstin Road, admitted to intentionally sharing intimate images of his ex-partner without her consent when he appeared before Somerset Magistrates in Yeovil.

The court heard that Capewell uploaded the images to a swinger's website after the end of their relationship. The victim, who had previously been in an intimate relationship with Capewell, was alerted to the images by a friend who spotted them online. She was certain she had not shared the photos herself and concluded that Capewell was responsible.

When questioned by police, Capewell confessed to posting the photos and acknowledged his wrongdoing.

Capewell, who represented himself in court, said he had been in a dark place at the time and expressed remorse for his actions.

The magistrates sentenced him to a two-year community order, which includes 100 hours of unpaid work and 40 rehabilitation activity days. He was also ordered to pay £250 in compensation to the victim.

Additionally, Capewell was placed on the Sex Offender's Register and issued a two-year restraining order, preventing him from contacting the victim directly or indirectly.
