Glastonbury crash appeal after man seriously injured
By Laura Linham 5th May 2026
Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was seriously injured in a crash on the A39 Street Road in Glastonbury.
The collision happened at around 10.30am on Sunday, 26 April, when a black Hyundai Kona left the carriageway and hit a fence and lamppost.
The driver, a man in his early 80s, was rescued from the vehicle by the fire service.
He was taken to hospital with serious injuries, but has since been discharged and is continuing his recovery at home.
Police say witness accounts suggest the driver of a silver Ford Focus may have pulled into the path of the Hyundai before leaving the scene, possibly without realising a collision had happened.
Officers have carried out CCTV enquiries and spoken to witnesses.
They are now asking anyone who was in the area at the time, or who has relevant CCTV or dashcam footage, to come forward.
Police are particularly keen to hear from the driver of the silver Ford Focus.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101. The reference number was not included in the appeal provided.
