The son of a Glastonbury county councillor is at the centre of a BBC documentary investigating claims of a £1 million festival ticket scam.

Miles de Lisle Hart, 28, is the focus of Fake Friend: The Ticket Scammer, airing on BBC Three at 9pm on Sunday, 23 November.

The film follows allegations that the Somerset man used his reputation and charm to con friends and contacts out of large sums of cash with bogus ticket promises.

Hart, who grew up in Glastonbury and attended Millfield School, is the son of Somerset Council member Cllr Susannah Hart. He allegedly told others that she had been allocated Glastonbury Festival tickets — including local, backstage and hospitality passes — which he then sold on for thousands of pounds.

There is no suggestion whatsoever that Cllr Hart was involved in, aware of, or connected to any of the alleged activities. She was contacted for comment but did not respond.

The programme hears from multiple people who say they handed over money in good faith for Glastonbury Festival tickets that never arrived — and are still chasing refunds over a year later.

The documentary paints a picture of a Somerset high-flyer who turned charm and connections into tools of deception — living a glamorous life of designer labels and private jets, while victims were left facing huge losses and shattered friendships.

The BBC says the film features first-hand testimony, voice notes, secret recordings and unseen messages. It includes voices from victims and event industry insiders, examining the personal and financial cost of chasing exclusivity — and how even the most cautious can be taken in.

Hart's current whereabouts are unknown. He has not responded to requests for comment. Police have confirmed they are aware and are investigating.
