One of Glastonbury's most well known charities, Children's World, has taken the decision to "go dark" in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.
The charity, which was founded in 1981 by Winston Churchill's granddaughter Arabella, has made the decision to cut its running costs and to protect its finances.
A spokesperson for the charity said: "In order to hopefully survive and continue after this current crisis is over, Children's World has taken the difficult decision to 'go dark' for at least the next three months.
"This is to cut our running costs and protect our finances as best as possible. This means that we have also had to cancel this year's Off the Streets event.
"In order to continue we also need to raise much-needed funds to cover our fundraising hole from the cancellation of this year's Glastonbury Festival.
"We want to thank all our supporters, old and new, for their generous contributions and we hope to be back soon, bringing our workshops, activities and events for children of all abilities to schools, special schools and communities."
In its early years the charity concentrated on providing educational, creative and fun workshops for children with special needs in the South West.
Alongside the workshops, the charity put on the Glastonbury Children's Festival every summer for more than 30 years.
The success of the charity's work in special schools led to requests from mainstream schools and the charity was soon providing workshops for children of all abilities.
It was at this point the charity started designing workshops that would allow children of mixed abilities to work together in a fully integrated project.
In 1999, having been approached by War Child to see if the charity could provide workshops for refugees from the Kosovan conflict in Albania and Kosovo, Arabella created Children's World International to extend the reach of the charity's work.
Children's World is currently led by three directors, and its work continues to grow and evolve, providing workshops for children of all abilities across the UK and world wide.
