Glastonbury and Street house prices lag behind Somerset average
By Laura Linham 9th Feb 2026
Homes in Glastonbury and Street remain among the more affordable parts of Somerset, according to the latest postcode-level house price figures.
In the BA6 postcode, which covers Glastonbury and nearby areas, homes sold for an average of £330,135 in the 12 months to the end of December 2025. Prices in Street (BA16) were lower still, with the average home selling for £291,960 over the same period.
Both figures sit well below Somerset's most expensive locations and underline the wide gap between property markets across the county. At the lower end of the scale, Yeovil (BA21) was the cheapest postcode area in Somerset, with homes selling for an average of £242,995. At the top end, Wedmore (BS28) recorded an average sale price of £610,393 — a difference of nearly £400,000 between the cheapest and most expensive areas.
Year-on-year data shows modest growth in both towns. Glastonbury recorded a 0.7 per cent increase in average prices, while Street saw a stronger rise of 3.8 per cent, suggesting steady demand despite wider economic pressures.
Elsewhere in Somerset, towns including Wells (£386,918), Frome (£380,241) and Bruton (£382,106) all recorded higher average prices than Glastonbury and Street. Meanwhile, several rural and village postcodes continued to command a significant premium.
The figures highlight how property prices can vary sharply even between neighbouring towns, as buyers balance affordability, location and local amenities when making purchasing decisions.
