If you're between gigs, dodging your current one, or just fancy a change before the tinsel goes up, this week's local job pickings are far from bleak. Plenty of practical roles (chefs, drivers, fitters) and a decent smattering of salary brackets - so here's the cream of the crop.
There are two head chef roles up for grabs this week. The Glastonbury Care Home wants someone to run the show for £30k–£36.5k, with full-time hours and full responsibility for menus, nutrition, and keeping the custard lump-free.
Over at Millfield School, it's a slightly posher kettle of fish: benefits include pool access, career development and complimentary meals. No salary listed, but enough perks to suggest you won't be pinching the leftovers.

If you're more of a number two, there's also a Sous Chef gig in Street paying up to £14.50/hr with tips, staff meals, and flexibility. Ideal if you want the buzz of service without the menu-planning stress.
A flexible Blinds and Curtains Installer role is available in Street. It's part- or full-time, mostly local, and great if you've got a van and know your way around a spirit level.
Elsewhere, a Window & Door Fitter's Assistant is needed to help out around Swindon and Street—training included, decent pay. One for the ladder-friendly.
And at Mars Petcare's Baltonsborough site, they're after a Process Operator for production shifts. £28k–£31.5k, full benefits, and likely more kibble than you ever imagined. It's noisy but steady work.

Street's got room for an Optometrist, with a package up to £65k, full or part-time, GOC fees covered, and relocation help if you think you can wrangle it. A rare gig for those whose idea of "precision tools" includes a retinal scanner.
Fancy making a little extra in the run up to Christmas? The Loft is looking for a seasonal kitchen assistant, if you're available for weekend and evening work.
Delivery Drivers in Glastonbury are wanted, with £800 bonus bait, pay from ~£178/day if you've got your own van (or they'll rent you one), and a promise of consistent routes. Bring snacks, a podcast queue, and a strong sense of direction.
Check out the Glastonbury & Street Nub News jobs board for more roles—new listings added regularly, many of them spelling "benefits" correctly. Worth a browse before Monday rolls around again.
