The Red Hot Jazz Club Presents: Immortal Onion x Michal Jan
The Red Brick Building, Glastonbury, BA6 9FT
Music
UNTIL Saturday 25th May
From Gdask, Poland, Immortal Onion and Michal Jan are currently touring the UK playing their beautiful, original jazz fusion for us on Saturday May 25th. If you love original jazz which pushes the boundaries of other genres like film, electronic, trans beats and even prog metal, you are not going to want to miss this.
Immortal Onion are a modern young instrumental jazz band with Wojtek Warmijak (drums), Tomir pioek (piano, synths) and Ziemowit Klimek (double bass, synths). This tour will also see them performing with saxophonist Micha Jan Ciesielski.
The band have already built up a strong position as one of the most interesting, new jazz projects from Poland. After two well received albums ("Ocelot of Salvation" in 2017 and "XD [Experience Design]" in 2020, U Know Me Records), they had the pleasure of presenting the new release called "Screens" recorded at the initiative of the saxophonist Micha Jan Ciesielski.
The trio have performed their original material at many venues and festivals in 16 countries around Europe.
The inspiration for the band formation were, to name just a few, Esbjörn Svensson, Hiromi Uehara and Tigran Hamasyan, In terms of genre, Immortal Onion offers a bold combination of many seemingly remote styles – jazz, film music, minimalism as well as fusion, electronic music and even progressive metal.
The unique sound of the group originates from the stylistic variety, and skilful combination of rhythmically complex, energetic riffs with minimalistic, trans beats and lyrical themes.
Join us at Glastonbury's very own low-lit Jazz Club at The Red Brick Building for another night of amazing music and atmosphere, alongside an optional Jazz Supper from The Old Tannery. All can be booked online at our website.
