About Sarah Curtis
In the beautiful ancient city of Wells, set in the heart of rural Somerset, is one of the UK's best-kept secrets, Sarah Curtis.
Sarah is a singer songwriter and musician, who has been crafting her skills for over two decades. Growing up on a musical diet of Tori Amos, The Cranberries, And Queen, to name a few, this added to her musical influences.
As a child she would spend hours and hours at the piano, lost in a land of melodies and heartfelt emotions; perfecting her skills in piano and voice. Aged 12 she would write and perform her first song, Remember, winning many local Talent Shows.
At 16 she was introduced to the acoustic guitar and begin recording with co-writer and guitarist Dan Sparks. In the few years they were together as a musical duo, they performed at the Glastonbury Festival, and recorded in the Ealing Studios, London. By 18 she had recorded her first album, Clear.
Sarah continued to collaborate over the years with other musicians developing musical projects and recording various EPs and albums.
Sarah is currently working on several new projects. A few years ago Sarah was introduced to playing the Harp and one of the projects she is currently working on features new material with the harp, piano and guitar and working with session musicians on tabla, percussion, violin and cello. She composes all her harmonies and string sections.
Another of Sarah's ongoing projects is writing and recording new songs inspired by her spiritual path as a Sufi, inspired by the poetry of Hafiz and Rumi. This exciting project will include compositions on harp, piano and guitar. She hopes to release the album in 2020.
