You will hear about the Celtic Underworld, the Holy Grail and the Tor's labyrinth.
The walk starts at the Stone Down Lane Entrance, with an introduction. Then moves up to the Orchard for material on the landscape and origins of the name Avalon, 'Isle of Apples'. Third stop will be on one of the wider terraces part way up the steps (a breather) where we will cover the geology, the red and white springs, the tale of Gwyn app Nudd and the mystery of the terraces/labyrinth. Finally, the top of the tor by the tower, where we cover the history and archaeology, along with the tale of Joseph of Arimathea, the Holy Grail and the origins of William Blake's poem that became the hymn 'Jerusalem'.
This is a short walk of about a mile through the orchard and up a very steep hill with steps. An ascent of 55m. Stout shoes and a stick are recommended.

- Please wear weather appropriate clothing.
- General uphill walking with steep slopes, no facilities.
