The Glastonbury Assembly Rooms have launched a £10,000 emergency appeal to carry out urgent repairs to their historic building.
Work has already started on one corner of the exterior wall — but organisers say the entire right-hand side needs repointing after decades of wear.
The flat roof above the main entrance is also leaking badly, damaging electrical equipment and threatening further disruption. A newly installed smoke alarm box costing £850 was ruined by water ingress and had to be replaced at a further cost of £540.
The Assembly Rooms, a registered community benefit society, said it had recently been turned down for two grant applications despite ongoing efforts.
Craig McFarlane, who is leading the appeal, said he had already put in more than £500 of his own money.
"We managed to do the other side about 18 months ago. Now the rest needs doing — all the cement needs removing and repointing. We've got someone doing the work, but the roof above the entrance is a real problem. It's always been dodgy, but it's got worse.
"If you can help, please do — I'm not asking anyone to contribute anything I wouldn't do myself."
Donations can be made via PayPal, bank transfer, cheque, cash or through the group's online crowdfunding page.
The Assembly Rooms is one of Glastonbury's longest-running independent venues, hosting grassroots events and community arts without public funding.
