This upcoming weekend, Glastonbury and Street are set to host an eclectic array of events that promise entertainment and a deep dive into the heart of community, history, and culture.

In a strong gesture towards unity and inclusion, the Meare Village Inclusion Walk on Sunday, 14th April, invites residents and supporters to gather at 10 am at the Meare Village Playing Field, BA6 9PU. This event, supported by Mayor Indra Donfrancesco among other notable figures, isn't just a march; it's a bold statement against racism and a reaffirmation of Meare as a welcoming, safe space for all. Inspired by recent events, the community aims to show solidarity within the village.

As Glastonbury looks towards the future, the Glastonbury Town Deal Open Day on Saturday, 13th April, from 11 am to 3 pm at the Town Hall, offers residents a chance to engage with the transformative projects funded by the government's Towns Fund grant. This event showcases the ambitious plans set to revitalise the town, from infrastructure improvements to community and cultural enhancements. It's a unique chance to get an inside look at what's in store for Glastonbury, with further information for interested local businesses available at Somerset Supply Chain.

Strode Theatre in Street is the weekend's cultural hotspot, with a lineup that caters to all ages and tastes. From theatre productions perfect for family outings, such as Teddy's Zoo Adventure and Alice Through the Looking Glass, to a musical tribute to George Michael on Friday, 12th April, there's plenty to draw in the crowds. The theatre will also screen a variety of films, including Luca, offering something for every cinema enthusiast. Details on showtimes and bookings can be found on Strode Theatre's official site.

The King Arthur, will host performances from local and regional talents, including the Cantilena Choir and The Cabarats, providing a splendid backdrop of live music throughout the weekend.

This weekend is more than a schedule of events; it's a celebration of community, history, and culture that speaks to the heart of what makes Glastonbury and Street so special.

Whether you're standing with your neighbours in Meare, exploring the depths of history, or enjoying the rich tapestry of cultural offerings, there's a place for everyone to engage, learn, and celebrate.
