Trial date set for Somerset murder after man fatally stabbed in village

A preliminary trial date has been set following a fatal stabbing in a Somerset village.

After responding to a distress call at a residence on Dunford Terrace in Baltonsborough shortly after 4:30 p.m. on Thursday (May 9), emergency personnel declared 41-year-old Henri Kekkonen dead by 5:30 p.m.

The post-mortem examination revealed that Henri died from a stab wound.

Christine Kekkonen, 36, also from Dunford Terrace, has been charged with Henri's murder and remains in custody.

She did not enter a plea during her initial appearance at Bristol Magistrates' Court on Saturday (May 11).

During a brief session at Bristol Crown Court on Tuesday morning (May 14), the prosecutor and Judge William Hart scheduled a provisional trial for Monday, November 11, expected to last seven days.

Christine Kekkonen was not present at this hearing.

A further plea and trial preparation hearing is set for June 25 at the same court, where a formal plea will be entered.
