Tor Sports and Leisure Centre in Glastonbury will officially reopen on Monday, February 3, following a major refurbishment funded by the Glastonbury Town Deal.

The much-anticipated upgrades have transformed the centre into a modern fitness and community hub, featuring a brand-new gym, updated studio spaces, and improved facilities.

What's new?

The refurbishment—part of the £23.6 million Glastonbury Town Deal—has revitalised the centre, with new features including:

  • A new gym equipped with state-of-the-art fitness gear
  • A multi-use sports hall for various activities
  • Refurbished changing rooms, showers, and toilets, including an accessible Changing Places toilet
  • Three treatment rooms for therapies and wellness sessions
  • New meeting and storage spaces
  • A social area with a bar and kitchenette
  • A remodelled reception area featuring a café

Fusion Leisure will continue to operate the centre, which will support local sports teams, including cricket, football, bowls, rounders, and acrobatics.

Reopening celebrations and special offers

To celebrate the reopening, Tor Sports and Leisure is offering:

  • 12 months for the price of 9 on memberships
  • No payments until February 15

A spokesperson for Tor Sports and Leisure said: "We're back and better than ever! The refurbishment has completely transformed the space, and we can't wait to welcome people back to enjoy the new facilities."

A key part of Glastonbury's regeneration

This project is one of 11 regeneration schemes funded by the Glastonbury Town Deal, designed to enhance local infrastructure and boost the town's economy.

The refurbishment was funded with £2.09 million from the Town Deal, plus an additional £290,000 from other sources.
