In a nod to nearly nine centuries of tradition, Tor Fair returns to Herbies Field in Glastonbury this week.

Operating as the second-longest continually running fair in the country, the event starts today, 11th September, and goes until Saturday, 16th September.

While Herbies Field is not a new venue for the event, the fair continues to evolve, now offering a wide variety of attractions, from big rides and children's rides to games and refreshments.

Gates are open from 5 pm to 9 pm on weekdays and 1 pm to 10 pm on Saturdays. The fair is being organised by Henry Chipperfield, whose family has a storied history with the event, dating back to 1946.

Admission is free, and the week-long celebration will culminate in a fireworks display.

Tor Fair remains a fixture in the busy Glastonbury events calendar, holding its own alongside an array of activities that the town offers, both old and new.

Those interested in attending can find more information on the fair's Facebook page.
