The Fratellis lead Godney Gathering line-up at new home

The Fratellis will headline the Godney Gathering as the festival moves to its new home near Wells next summer. The band behind Chelsea Dagger, Whistle for the Choir and Henrietta leads the main stage announcement for 16 and 17 July 2027.
The festival will take place at Woodford Farm on Woodford Lane, following approval of a new premises licence. Symphonic Ibiza will headline Friday night, combining an orchestra, live singers and a DJ with dance music spanning more than three decades.
The Real Thing, The Farm, Artful Dodger and The Wurzels are also confirmed. Completing the main stage bill are Runaway Club, Dub Catalyst, Slates, Rock Choir and PaperPlanes.
Organisers revealed the names on Sunday, 1 November, days after securing the licence for the new venue. The announcement covers the main stage, with the full festival line-up due in February.
Performer applications have now closed, and organisers say they received nearly 1,000 submissions. The team will work through those applications as it prepares the remaining programme.
The move follows a warning from founder and festival director Mike Daniells that the event had reached a financial crossroads. He told Somerset Council's licensing hearing that the previous arrangement, with camping provided independently by a local farmer, had become financially unviable.
Woodford Farm allows camping and entertainment to be brought together at one site. The new licence permits one event each year on the third Friday and Saturday in July, with just under 10,000 people allowed each day, including staff, performers, contractors and volunteers.
The Godney Gathering began in 2011 as a fundraising opportunity for carnival clubs. It later expanded to two days at Garslade Farm, with the new venue around three miles from its previous home.
Tickets, including camping and glamping options, are available through the Godney Gathering website.
