Street police patrols target Greenbank parking
By Laura Linham 2nd Jul 2026
Police are prioritising patrols around Greenbank Pool in Street after reports of poor and illegal parking near the swimming pool.
The Neighbourhood Policing Team said it is focusing on the roads surrounding Greenbank Pool after concerns were raised about motorists parking badly, illegally or causing problems for other road users and pedestrians.
Officers said they are working with Somerset Council parking wardens to address any issues found in the area. The parking concern was agreed as a local priority on Sunday, 14 June, and updated on the same date.
Motorists are being encouraged to park responsibly when visiting Greenbank Pool and nearby roads. Police have asked drivers not to cause obstructions or park over pavements.
Residents are being asked to report blocked roads when they happen, rather than after the event. If a road is obstructed, police say people should call 101 at the time.
The issue comes as local facilities and residential streets can come under pressure from visitor parking, especially around busy community sites such as swimming pools. Police say targeted patrols will continue in and around the Greenbank Pool area.
