Street's Gates Museum has received a major donation of 100 rare antique sewing machines.
The machines have been gifted by collector Paul Verney in one of the most significant single donations in the museum's history.
The collection spans different eras, manufacturers and mechanical innovations, giving visitors a wider look at the evolution of sewing craftsmanship.
Mr Verney, a UK-based collector, spent decades curating and restoring the machines.
The museum said the collection is distinguished by its rarity, condition and historical importance.
Dominic Macey, of the Gates Museum, said: "We are immensely grateful to Paul Verney for his most generous and thoughtful donation.
"His passion for preserving the history of sewing machines aligns perfectly with our mission, and this gift will have a lasting impact on our institution and visitors alike."
In recognition of the donation, the museum will now be referred to as Gates Museum featuring the Paul Verney Collection.
The machines will be catalogued and gradually added to public displays.
The museum is also planning special events to showcase the collection and explain the historical context behind the machines.
Gates Museum said the donation further establishes it as a destination for the study and appreciation of antique sewing machines.
